I spent two weeks riding to Harbor Springs, Michigan and back just for some vacation and a chance to see some fall colors. These are some of the photos I took. I was using my GoPro Hero in case you were wondering about the quality. I am also uploading to YouTube a short video as well.

What a pain

Just replaced the oil pressure sensor on my Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport (again)! Second time went smoother since I know what needs to be removed and what doesn’t. This time took only about an hour to replace. Wish they would figure out a way to keep these from failing.

World Gliding Championships 2012

The World Gliding Championship is going on in Uvalde this summer. After a couple of attempts I finally arrived at the appropriate time to watch some takeoffs and landings. As a side note, I didn’t realize that some of the larger gliders have their own power for takeoff.

Techmount – GPS Installation

Techmount GPS holder This is the new Techmount GPS holder that I purchased for my BMW. Installation is pretty simple. Remove the two factory bolts nearest the ignition then use the supplied spacers and longer bolts to hold it in place.

Garmin cradle There is a mounting plate supplied that is attached to the back of my Garmin cradle. It is held in place with screws and locknuts that came from Garmin.

Cradle mounted To attach the cradle to the mount the nipple on the back of the mounting plate is inserted into the top of the mount and held in place with an Allen screw.

Garmin Zumo Now you can attach the Zumo to the cradle. The cord runs across the “tank” and over to the BMW Powerlet plug.

I decided to use a Powerlet cord instead of hard-wiring the installation. That way when I’m not taking a long trip and don’t want all of the clutter I can remove the whole thing by unplugging the power cord and undo the Allen screw holding the cradle. This leaves me looking like the first picture in the installation. Also there is nothing to steal and nothing to be harmed by the weather!
